aftertaxpay.co.uk is a free, independent UK financial calculators platform for working out take-home pay and related payroll figures — Income Tax, National Insurance, pension contributions, student loan repayments, stamp duty, redundancy pay, statutory maternity pay, and more.

Why we built this

UK tax rules change every year, and the bands, thresholds, and allowances are spread across dozens of GOV.UK pages. We built this site to bring the current year's figures together in one place, with calculators that show their working rather than just a single headline number.

How the figures are sourced

Every rate and threshold used in our calculators is taken from published GOV.UK and HMRC sources for the current tax year, with the source and retrieval date recorded alongside the figures. Each results page shows the tax year it applies to and a last-updated date, so you can judge how current the numbers are.

What this site is not

These calculators are for guidance only and are not financial, tax, or legal advice. Your own circumstances — tax code, benefits in kind, multiple employments, and so on — can change the exact figures. For anything that materially affects your finances, check GOV.UK's own calculators or speak to an accountant or financial adviser.
